If you are committed to public service and public safety, Sul Ross State Univ. offers a choice of two online Master of Science degrees that you complete in the security and comfort of your own home.

Sul Ross designed graduate programs in Homeland Security and Criminal Justice to help you advance your career and provide opportunities if you are interested in teaching or planning to enter a doctoral program. Both prepare graduate students to boost their careers by improving communication skills, particularly in a multicultural society. Instructors teach quantitative research methods and help you develop critical thinking and observation skills. These online programs provide flexibility for working adults while fostering personal relationships with faculty and other students.

The Master of Science in Homeland Security focuses on aspects of security ranging from government restructuring through disaster preparedness, terrorism, and crisis management. Students develop familiarity with the systems that comprise homeland security and the theories behind those systems. They will also learn how American public administrative agencies, including law enforcement and national security agencies, secure the nation from domestic and international threats.

The Criminal Justice graduate program focuses on the American criminal justice system and its subsystems including police, courts, juries, prosecutors, defense and correctional agencies and the standards and methods used to respond to crime. The curriculum also includes study in global threats such as cybercrime, organized crime, and terrorism. Students tailor the program to their own interests and may choose electives from political science and public administration as well as electives from other disciplines.

These two graduate programs are among the most affordable in the nation, and in addition to being completely online, small class sizes ensure students have access to instructors. Sul Ross offers online resources and research capabilities through the Texas State Univ. System digital infrastructure.
